Later this year, after the next big expansion is already released, the Dev Team will begin working on a new event pack…one chosen by you! Vote now between three different event pack themes to determine which area will become more fleshed out in the game next.

Potential Event Pack Themes:

Wards & Wardens
Take a deep dive into what being a child in the Middle Ages was actually like, and explore what guardianship meant in practical terms. Wards & Wardens would feature events revolving around childhood, being a guardian, children at court, and more.

Love & Lust
Let your love life take the reins! While lovers and spouses take on a larger role in Love & Lust, explore events related to more intimate relationships, expanded seduction, married life, and more.

Villains & Vagabonds
Leverage your fearsome reputation and learn what it truly means to be dreaded. Villains & Vagabonds will feature events embracing the consequences and opportunities of being a tyrant, while considering contrasting themes of fairness and honor.

Have ideas for how these themes could be thoroughly explored in CK3? Share them with us and the rest of the community—we’d love to hear what you think! Not yet sure which theme to choose? Feel free to discuss the pros and cons you see for each choice, just remember to cast your vote by January 27, 8am CET when the poll closes.

The choice is yours, vote now in the poll at the top of the thread!

All nice and so, but pls before you add more, make sure that the older events have all the checks.

As we discussed over chrismas, your DLCs miss several checks that are in the main game, resulting for example in characters becoming adulterers while their traits, personality and relationships should make that impossible.

For me it is wards and wardens. Children and Child Rulers need flavour more urgently than the other two cases in my honest opinion. Villains seem also decent though.

While memories were pretty neat and celebrated, imho they didn't impact gameplay that much. Even though I'm quite a roleplay guy myself I found that I usually ignore the memories tab altogether.

With this event pack, I would like something that expands a bit more on modifiers and mechanics, while also lending opportunities to roleplay. Maybe a "fairness" metric as opposed to dread and tyranny to go along with "Villains and Vagabonds", as well as some new uses for piety, fairness, dread and tyranny? A regency system to go along wards and wardens? Some role to fill within diplomacy in addition to adding flat skills for spouses with Love and Lust? I would really enjoy something along those lines, since it would add strategic tibdits here and there (fighting for regency as a vassal, leveraging your reputation as a tyrant/hero, caring for your spouse as a key part of your court) while enabling roleplayers to fulfill their fantasy of being a rightful guardian of the future king, a ruthless bastard or a legendary king and queen consort duo.

I really like this voting direction too, I think you will get far less backlash this way than what you had with Friends&Foes. Keep the work going guys, and don't let negativity around here get the best of you. I think that most of us are actually satisfied and enjoying CK3 for what it is. It's simply that those frustrated for not being able to play a version of the game that exists only within their imagination tend to be much more vocal about it than the rest of your audience.

Love & Lust would be super interesting. After playing hundreds of hours in ck3, conquering kingdoms is no longer fun for me. I just want to have fun with my wife and lovers, tbh.

I expect Paradox to make all three event packs eventually, sooner or later. But my first choice was Villains & Vagabonds. I wouldn't mind the childhood being enriched first though.

I'm so torn because many of these are great choices. There's a lot of little neat lifestyle bits with Dread but I feel it's wanting some core mechanics still; at the same time Wards&Wardens sounds like it could really bring a lot to playing a young ruler in a fun way!

All three of these would add a lot, but more events around children that don't involve drowning them in the pool would do a lot to help you feel a connection from one ruler to the next.

There's definitely something to be said for the need for more depth to villainy and tyrants though -- right now it's basically clicking Torture on a prisoner (mostly for, uh, fun) and messing around with kidnapping and assassinations. Dread feels pretty binary and just a huge risk when inheritance comes around.

New system for fear and tyranny? I'm kind man, I really don't like it. But it's interesting, because tyranny system is very boring.

Child, parents and wardens - Yes, game need it, sad, that only in dlc...

Love & lust - we all want it;), but... F&F already give a threesome events for us ;) (but they are don't work, as they must...).

So, my vote for W&W.

I voted for Love & Lust, because it's an aspect that's a lot of fun in my games, but i would not be mad in the slightest if the others win, because they are also expanding areas in the game that would grow a lot with some more flavour.
