Welcome to the Space Day Charity Stream!

We here at Paradox Interactive wanted to celebrate the International Space Day (first Friday in May every year) with something special. After some discussion between our space/sci-fi -themed games we came up with this activation, something where we can do together with primarily you, the Community, but also other Development Companies!

Start: Friday 3rd of May, 10:00 CEST.
End: Saturday 4th of May, 10:00 CEST.

Donation goals:
We are collecting donations for Save the Children (https://www.savethechildren.org), our goal is to raise $5000 together with you all. We at Paradox Interactive will donate money equal to the peak concurrent views we get on the stream. Up to a maximum of $2500 (half of our target). So just watching the stream means you are helping a good cause!


Loot wall:
Anyone donating $5 or more can participate in our loot wall competition here on the forum! It’s easy, we want you to create a space poem. For more info on the loot wall and how to enter the competition keep your eyes here (we will create a new forum thread with all the info you need on Thursday. We have some lovely prizes on here not only from us but also from Corsair and Nvidia.

For streamers:
If you want to participate and help raise money to this cause, we have created an overlay that you can download following this link: https://pdxint.at/2ISRTEr
Instructions on how to set it up is in there. We have made it with OBS in mind, so if you are using something else to stream, some tweaking might be needed.
If you are planning on doing something, please let us know so we can say hi during the stream!


Friends from other developing studios:
We will have Fast Travel Games (Swedish VR studio), Templin Institute and Subset Games in during different times of the stream! Super excited about having them all onboard! If you are working for a dev studio with a space game and decide to do something during Space Day, please let us know and we can do something fun together!

Please feel free to ask us if you have any questions, and I hope we will see each other on Twitch during the activation!

Lol I keep checking this thread nightly for updates on the "Are you streaming yourself and want to take part in this? Awesome! We will be releasing some more info on how you can participate and help us reach the charity goal very soon!"

...sorry Easter happened! But I updated with the outline of what you can do as a streamer! The overlays will come up asap! And we will go through more info on it when we upload them.
 
Thanks for the update Jimmy! As a massive fan of AoW3, I am very eager to get to play AoW: Planetfall. (Fun fact: I met an intern working on AoW: Planetfall at the VtM: Bloodline 2 reveal event in San Francisco, and we chatted for over an hour)

I emailed Jesse Henning requesting a key for AoW: Planetfall for the event, and have not heard from him yet. If I don't get a key for the event, I'll probably play Stellaris from 9am-1pm PST. Is there somebody else I could/should reach out to about requesting a key? (I got a key for Imperator: Rome a couple weeks ago after requesting one from Jesse, although Troy Goodfellow was the one to respond/send me the key)

But why a "Space Day" celebrated on 3rd of May? First Earth satellite was launched on 4th of October, first man - on 12th of April, and first man stepped on the Moon's surface on 20th of July. What is so "space" happend on 3rd of May?
