So, what is this about? It's about You creating empires, and we will put them into galaxies, arenas, where they will battle each other to see which of your empires does best when played by the AI. Also about showing off your empires. It's a community event, think of it like a Wrestling Royal Rumble, or one of these cool matches where people let their selfmade robots fight each other :)

It's simple: If you like creating Stellaris Empires, just join! It's easy: Just post your 1-3 empires in the thread below. I will accept any form that you like, description, file copypasta <3, images, whatever form!

What is it about? We want to throw AI empires into a galaxy, they will love and fight each other, and in the end we will know which AI is the best!
We'll have more galaxies the more participants we have, and in the end we'll have a final galaxy that will run 1000 years.

It's also about: Showing your creations, backstories, sharing your inspirations. I will show and comment on every one of your empires in a big video about all the participant empires and their backstories and design!

So it's creative and competitive at the same time, you can choose to be competitive only, you dont need a backstory and you can also choose to be creative only and just give me a backstory that you've worked on and I'll create an empire out of it in gameplay terms.

What will be done with your creation? It will be put into a Default galaxy on Ensign together with nine other AIs and they will fight and love each other until we will determine a winner after 200, 500 or 1000 years (depending on tournament stage). I'll compile the hours and hours footage into timelapses: 5-15 minute videos of the 200+ Stellaris years with some chill music and maybe some commentary :)

Who will participate? How will your empire do? Who will win? We'll find out together!

Making sure your empire is in and works:
There are some things you should know about creating the empires so I can make sure they will be included and used in the galaxy:

If you choose to send me the copypasta text over, deactivate your mods before creating your empire (s). Most empires that didn't work for the tournament had a mod activated that would prevent their inclusion. Any mod will cause it.

Always choose the Random starting Star System or the Random Void Dwellers / Ring World system. No Sol, Deneb, etc... these systems will reliably exclude these empires from a generated galaxy even if I „force“ them to spawn,. These systems are meant to be taken by a (solo) player.

Scion Empires will not work as we will not use Fallen Empires because the focus should be YOUR empires.

I will only include backstories if they are there in text and I can copypaste them, for example pasted / written in the comments or from the etc. I like backstories but they should fit into the ingame biography as I'll read them out from there in the presentation of your empires. There is enough room there but not too much: Around 512 keystrokes (characters with spaces included). Include your online handle or name if you want me mention it, best at the start.

Setup: Ensign difficulty = Full AI power but no resource bonuses. Default size galaxy, no crises, no Fallen Empires so a win will not be dependent on luck too much. Of course there is still luck, but this will make it fair enough :)

I've done all this already 3 times before, with the last tournament two years ago, also here in the forums, so it will probably run smoothly and the new performance increases and AI improvements will make this tournament a real joy to participate in.

Ask anyone in the world and they'll tell you the Aclyx are the chosen ones of Necis, God of Death. He sent them to the world in medieval times, taking over the bodies of the Netra people to create sort of... zombies, but zombies who could think deeply about the world around them. Time came, and peace rose, with the faith of Necis raising to a dominant position.

The truth, however, is that the Aclyx were a bioweapon, unleashed by a xenophobic fallen empire upon a world of primitives who they decided were too trusting, too open, in their ways. That Fallen Empire is gone now, and their bioweapon has gone far off the rails. Only time will tell how far they continue to go.

My machine and necroid are always strong in every game I've played, so I just put them in the tournament without further thought. But with the new update, a unity focusing empire would have better chance to win. And I came up with the rock eaters, my 3rd empire.
