Dear console players,


Last week we launched the much awaited Royal Court expansion, and while we’re happy to see you enjoyed its content, we’re sorry to see the many bugs and issues arising from this release.
We are investigating and testing multiple solutions with our partners at Lab42, and will keep you informed as we reach any conclusion.

*Update May 26*

Dear Players,

We have released a patch that aims to fix many of the smaller issues encountered after the release of the Royal Court, in particular the one that prevented you from Holding the Court.

The issues that are causing game crashes are a top priority and while this patch does not resolve them, we’re working to have them fixed as soon as possible - expect more info shortly.


Below is the changelog for the current patch:
  • Fixed an issue where you are unable to “Hold Court” due to hidden events occuring.
  • Fixed an issue in the tutorial where you get stuck on the Court Artifact window.
  • Fixed an issue where incorrect exclamation marks appear on the Court Menu.
  • Fixed an issue where decisions or pop ups can cause the game to lose focus and navigation.
  • Fixed an issue in the UI where the Relatives box is misaligned in the character menu.
  • Fixed the position of the Artifact buttons.
  • Fixed an issue where the progress bar in the Marshal section jumps to the end wh
  • en it is almost completed.

*Update June 1st*

Today we have released patch 9.2 for XBOX, aimed at solving the identified memory issues.
This fix should result in less instances of game crashing, in particular for XBOX series S.
PlayStation5 patch is undergoing additional testing and we’re aiming to release it next week.

While investigating crashes we have found a walkaround for the PS5 savegame issue. We’re working on a permanent solution to this problem, but meanwhile you can use the following:
The issue with PS5 made it impossible to play while using an old save game. You should start a new Royal Court game that will override the most recent autosave. Then you can proceed with your manual save of Northern Lords that should load and work.

Thank God! Thanks for listening. We love this game and would like to see it at its best. Especially on consoles...

Nice! Lots of little issues and a few bigger ones (crashing and having to adjust your settings everytime the game is turned off or crashes), but the new working features are great! Lab42 has done really good work porting over a great franchise. Fingers crossed they find the issues rapidly and can push out a hotfix patch.

Thank you for this information. Some clarification though. I am on the ps5. I have not installed royal court yet but I have the option to, the auto update that came out for everyone at the same time as royal court has made it so my game crashes on save.

I have auto save turned off as I was having issues with it not letting me manually save past around 1200 last summer. Just manually saving had let me play from 867 all the way to the end.

Is there a variant of this walk around I can attempt ? Thanks

Thanks, looking forward to more fixes! A big request to also take seriously the problems of the interface: "character search button", drifting cursor on PS5, showing titles on the character screen, fixing the translation in some places.

Still can't retract vassals on PS5. Sad face.
 
Once you fix obvious top priority issues like crashes or being unable to retract vassal, can you take a look at other, game breaking, long lasting bugs:

Are people suppose to report console bugs in this section or in the bugs section? It's probably easier for those people (console devs) to find the relevant bug reports in this section, since consoles don't have any particular indicator in the bug...

We are testing and preparing further patches that are aimed at resolving these issues. We want to make the game playable for everyone, and very soon.
 
Are consoles behind than PC in patches??? I mean, now they released patch 3.8.3 for PC. How far behind are consoles?
Is there anywhere a place to see consoles patches up to this point?

At the moment, before the PC version is like walking to the moon. We are waiting for at least the bugs to be fixed and the interface to be normal.

At least 2 major patches behind(Fate of Iberia free patch / Tour and Tournaments free patch). Unfortunately, Lab 42 made the incomprehensible decision of releasing each expansion with its base version, so despite being years behind, console players don't even receive the fixed version that took a couple of hot fixes to iron out after the release of the original patch. The icing on the cake is that they manage to introduce even more bugs to the console version of the release. This port is a masterclass of incompetence.
Hopefully people stop buying, because at this point, I'm almost willing to write this off as a tax on my stupidity.

Thank God I asked then. I will never touch it, and tell my friends that play such kind of games to do so.

We must speak and let them know, that we won't give them our hard worked money for incompetent ports, that companies lazily release.
It's not right. I really hope and believe that this game will get to the level of PC version, even if not right away, sometime at a later date. It's so sad...

As I understand you... I bought first on Xbox, then before Royal Court was released on PS5. It was a stupid mistake. And Sony doesn't want to refund money for a non-playable product because I launched it.

Sigh. New issue, save game rule presets are not loading even though the UI shows the rules being selected. I had a preset saved and loaded it and started a new game and it completely ignored it and used the default settings. Annoying as I was about an hour or two in before I noticed and now got to start over again.
 
I've been trying to contact someone for two weeks already, on console ck3 is unplayable, every 10 minutes the game crashes for no valid reason, since the last update it's always like this.. can you help me please? I spent some money and I don't want it to be thrown away like this
