Hello Console Edition Community!
Expansion Pass Five and Nemesis are available now for Xbox and Playstation!
After the last major update, we discovered that some of you were having issues with pop growth on your secondary species. Early next week we expect to be pushing a hotfix to address this issue. We also have seen several other bug reports with more involved fixes, that we hope to address in another patch in a few weeks' time. If you encounter a bug in the latest version of Console Edition on a new save, please make a bug report!
We’re here today to talk a little more about the development roadmap for Expansion Pass Five, what we’re planning on releasing, and roughly when. Expansion Pass Five sees the first of our Custodian Patches making it to Console Edition. The Custodian team is a team that focuses on fixing bugs, adding value to older DLCs, alongside adding Quality of Life/AI/performance improvements to the base game. You can read more about the Custodian Team here. We’ve released 2 Custodians patches for PC so far, and these free updates will also be coming to Console Edition in Expansion Pass Five!
Today we just have a rough outline for the upcoming features in the patches, we’ll go in-depth on these things in Development Diaries as we get closer to the release dates.
Launching later in 2022, the Aquatics Species pack will bring 15 new portraits (+1 for owners of the Synthetic Dawn Story Pack), a new Aquatics-themed shipset, new advisor voice, Ascension Perk, Civic, Species Trait, as well as two new Origins! This version is in active development with Tantalus, and we’re currently expecting to start development diaries for this version in August.

Aquatics will be paired with the free 3.1 “Lem” and the 3.2 “Herbert” updates.
The 3.1 “Lem” update adds selectable tradition trees, reworking some existing Tradition Trees to make them open to more empire types, and adding a new “Mercantile” Tradition Tree to the base game. 3.1 “Lem” also adds a boatload of new content to previously released expansions and species packs:
Clone Army Origin, captured from Stellaris PC
The 3.2 “Herbert” update adds even more content to Stellaris: Console Edition, with new randomly triggered terraforming events, new anomalies for gas giants and asteroids, and new options for older anomalies, as well as a host of other bugfixes and quality of life improvements. 3.2 also includes a new Civic for owners of the Humanoids Species Pack.
In 2023, we are bringing Overlord to Console Edition! Overlord brings three new Megastructures, three new Enclaves, enhanced Vassalization Contracts, Specialty Subject types, a new Ascension Perk, as well as five new Origins!
Partially Upgraded Quantum Catapult, captured from Stellaris PC
We’ve currently targeted early 2023 for Overlord’s release. Tantalus has not started working on this version yet, so we don't have an estimation for when we’ll be starting development diaries for this version.
Overlord on Console will also be paired with two free updates: 3.3 “Libra” and 3.4 “Cepheus”.
The 3.3 “Libra” update adds a complete rework to how Unity is used in Stellaris. Unity will be used for internal Empire management, and Influence for external actions. 3.3 “Libra” also adds the Permanent Employment Civic for owners of MegaCorp and the Necroids Species Pack, as well as new archaeology sites, and new anomalies.

The 3.4 “Cepheus” update adds the new Situations system, a progression-based narrative system, that is used for resource deficits, planetary revolts, machine uprisings, and some story events. Changes to how Subjugation works, including Subject Contracts, Holdings, and Quality of Life improvements. Also included in 3.4 “Cepheus” are changes to the military AI, Quality of Life improvements for auto-resettlement, and improvements to sector and planetary automation.

As you can see, it will be an exciting 12 months for Stellaris: Console Edition! You can pick up Nemesis by itself or in Expansion Pass Five today for Xbox and Playstation here!
Thanks for playing Stellaris: Console Edition, and I hope to be back Soon™ with more news!
