Hello Stellaris: Console Edition Fans!

We’ve put together a small hotfix to address an issue that cropped up after the release of Hotfix #2, related to inconsistent game speed.

Please note, that save compatibility is not guaranteed between Hotfix #2 and Hotfix #3. As always, if you continue to experience issues please start a new save and see if the issue persists.

  • Fixed inconsistent game speed

This update will be rolling out to PlayStation and Xbox players now. The new version numbers should be XB (3.4.0.0) and PS (03.04). If you do not receive this update within the next few hours, manually check for updates, or do a cold reboot of your console.

Thanks for playing Stellaris: Console Edition!

The actual timing wasn't confirmed till this morning. So being intentionally vague was necessary. :D

I definitely wasn't complaining! :) Happy to be back on my all-expansions console version tonight . I was playing the base no-DLC PC GamePass version over the weekend. Now I'm looking forward to having those PC updates on consoles.

I never thought I'd be happy that the game slows down on last-gen consoles late game since I never got to experience these speed bugs. How 'bout that
Hah, so QA must be done on the last gen consoles. Now it all makes sense! :)

Jokes aside, it does actually make sense to do QA on the weakest machines most likely to have performance issues. No offence to your last gen console @RhysTheT00n ;)

When are yall going add mods to console

Probably never, as the team that works on console ports is small and are primarily focused on updates to catch us up to PC. Out of the updates to make room for paid DLC and free mods the choice between the two is very one-sided
Then how people going play with PC players when they can use mods when consoles can't I use play on PC and ik slot of people use mods idk how it's going work if console have mods

They won't. Cross Platform isn't planned because they'd have to sync up console and PC builds which would mean they'd have to stop making PC updates for ages which would lose them money which they won't take as a tradeoff in a million years.

There's plenty of mods I've seen or heard of that I'd love to play, the only way I would ever do that is to get a PC, so that's what I'm building up towards

Paradox can make PC updates significantly faster and easier than Tantalus can make console updates, which means that they would have to permanently slow down the rate of updates in order to make Cross Platform possible which would then permanently make less money than they would if they just keeped doing what they're doing.

Long story short, console mods won't happen
