Hello everyone!

In lieu of a dev diary today, we're releasing Update 1.9.0.4 to resolve some issues reported to us by the community.

1.9.0.4 Changelog

  • Fixed some crashing issues
  • Fixed an issue that allowed a regent to accompany a ruler on their travels
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from planning activities after they canceled travel plans for "Petition Liege" and "Pay Homage" decisions
  • Fixed an issue that got tournaments stuck in the "Waiting for Tournament to start" phase
  • Fixed alliances gained through the Diplomacy Intent in Grand Weddings invalidating on the next day
  • Fixed the AI inviting players to Playdates, Witch Rituals, and Blots, no matter where in the world they are
  • Grand Wedding promises are now inherited by the player heir
  • Fixed an issue that caused players to be blocked permanently from planning activities due to them waiting for the Tour of their Liege
  • Fixed buildings increasing activity costs rather than reducing them

Our team is continuing to work on addressing your reports, so keep the feedback coming! We hope you've been enjoying Tours & Tournaments and the 1.9 'Lance' Update!

There was something I wanted to report but wasn't sure where - does the information for Accolades seem a little hard to locate for anyone else?

That was an extremely quick patch. Thank you all so much for all the hard work!

Is the patch backwards compatible? Can I load my save stuck in a tournament preparing phase with it?

Yes
And I have sometimes seenthat when I gave away a title to a good knight from someone else, it can happen that they are now „my accolate“ which is just not true…

Unfortunately, the Grand Wedding promises bug doesn't fix games already affected by the bug. I had shelved a save hoping that the fix would help it, but no. Guess I'm going to have to swallow the effects of breaking the Grand Wedding betrothal.

I’m not sure that this patch addresses that particular bug - at least I can’t see it referred to in the patch notes?

edit: Unless it’s dealt with by the below - I wasn’t sure what the cause of the issue was, but I’ve apparently broken my grand wedding promises before the relevant characters are of age if that’s the same issue you’re referring to.

“Grand Wedding promises are now inherited by the player heir”

If the promise was already lost on succession then sadly that cannot be fixed, we should have stopped it from happening again now though.

As far as I can tell this hasn't actually fixed the crashing issues for myself. Booted it up without mods, tried verifying it as well to no avail.

Might uninstall it for a bit and let a few more patches hit before giving it another go.

Does the fix also prevent grand wedding betrothals being declared broken before both characters have come of age (or is that yet to come)? Unfortunately this happened to me resulting in a feud with the angry AI ruler which ultimately extinguished my entire dynasty!

I know this is more so a little feature than a bug fix but its a bit weird how your on travel and your regents there and then when one of your councilors die you can just replace them no problemo, would it not make more sense for the regent to have this power, aybe not in a normal regency but perhaps in an entrentched one

I completely agree. The same is for having inspired people asking you questions whilst you are on the other side of the world. Shouldn't they work on their own accord or consult with the regent in that case?

Hey, you currently Pay Homage to your liege while they are travelling. Which leads to you kneeling to an empty throne.
Happened to me as well. The funniest thing is that everyone pretended like he was sitting on his throne

I wish the game would in that case offer me to
- wait for my liege
- discuss with the regent (which the regent would be able to tip the scale in their favour)
- or return and go back home by leaving an angry letter to my liege asking why they weren't ruling their kingdom but instead busy enjoying a hunt
